When freight company, Road Runners' boss, Chris Young gets a phone call about suspicious activity at any of his four Tasmanian depots, he turns on his computer instead of calling the police.</P> <P>Thanks to groundbreaking technology developed in Tasmania, Mr. Young is able to check the cause of the disturbance via a series of cameras at each site before deciding whether to authorize an inspection by security guards or police. In an industry where an estimated 85% of callouts are false alarms, the ability to check unusual activity via the Internet or computer network is big news.</P> <P>Unlike traditional security systems that send an alarm whenever motion is detected, StakeOut sends a video image instead, accompanied by an email message or SMS to a mobile phone or computer. By checking the image, the viewer can decide whether the event has been accidental or requires further investigation. The system is so precise it can detect a mouse scurrying across the floor of a warehouse the size of a football field.</P> <P>Road runners' 4 Tasmania depots use Axis 2120 Network Cameras with StakeOut Surveillance System to provide the quality of image the client demands.
